Coach Drake Beranek has the Bearcats on a school record 18-game win as Kearney also has its highest rating in program history (2nd, Omaha World-Herald) heading to Lincoln. Last at state in 2008, the Bearcats get 19.3 points from Kanon Koster and 13.4 pointers per game from sophomore Shiloh Robinson. Senior guard Jake Teichmeier leads the team with 73 assists and is second with 40 steals.
The Eagles, 10-time champions, have won 14 of 16 games heading to Lincoln as they make their 44th state tournament appearance in school history. Central, which won seven titles in eight seasons from 2006 to 2013, lost in the opening round last year to Creighton Prep. New Mexico recruit Isaiah Poor Bear Chandler leads the Central attack with 14.4 points and 9.5 rebounds per game averages. Point guard Roman Behrens averages 16.2 points and 4.4 rebounds.
