A unique night takes place in Class C-2 tonight where six of the top-10 teams in the Omaha World-Herald rankings will face each other, but none is bigger then show stopper in Utica where No. 1 Centennial takes on No. 3 Sutton for our Striv game-of-the-week.
Also tonight, No. 2 Norfolk Catholic travels to No. 5 BRLD and No. 6 Aquinas hosts No. 10 Ponca.
Centennial has not lost a regular season game since 2015 and bring back a class of 19 seniors from last years team that advanced to the state finals. The Broncos have been stingy on defense giving up just 21 points in three outings. Quarterback Wyatt Ehlers is completing 80% of his passes (not a typo), which is tops in the state and is second in C-2 in yards per game.
The Mustangs, who have been to playoffs every year since 2010, give up even less on defense only allowing a second half score to North Platte St. Pat’s in the opener. Sutton leads C-2 in rushing and is second in the state at 339 yards per game. Brett Simonsen and Jackson Perrien both average over 100 yards a night.
