A game that has turned into one of the state’s best rivalries is our Week Seven Game-of-the-Week as York travels to Aurora to open Class B, District 6 play. In a district where the four teams are all 4-2 or better this game will be important for both teams, who are ranked in the top-10 by the Omaha World-Herald.

The Dukes have been as consistent as any team in Class B since losing to top-ranked Elkhorn South in the opening week of the season. Since then, the third-ranked Dukes have outscored opponents by a total 211-46. York was also bolstered by the return of all-state player Simon Otte two weeks ago in a 20-7 win over No. 4 McCook.

The eighth-ranked Huskies have been all over the state before this return trip home. They have played at Sidney and Scottsbluff in the panhandled and last Thursday won at Crete 56-27. But they get two district games at home. Quarterback Baylor Scheierman has thrown for over 1,500 yards and running back/linebacker Cal Narber leads Aurora in rushing yards and tackles.

Also in the district, Grand Island Northwest hosts Seward. You can watch that game LIVE on the Northwest Striv Channel.
