Syracuse (5-2) vs Falls City (6-1)

A Class C1, District 2 rivalry is our feature game-of-the-week as Falls City (6-1) travels to Syracuse (5-2) battle for a district title and state playoff berth in Syracuse tonight. Syracuse won the rivalry game a season ago 33-16 as both teams advanced to the second round of the playoffs in 2013.
After an 0-2 start that saw the Rockets lose to Bishop Neumann and second-ranked Ashland-Greenwood, eighth-ranked Syracuse has rattled off five straight wins while giving up just 23 total points in those five wins. Division I recruit Matt Clark has anchored the defense from his defensive spot. Falls City has done most of their damage on offense led by the backfield duo of Brenden Heckenlively and Jack Hartman, the Tigers average just over 40 points per contest.
