Tonight, is Prep Huddle LIVE night for us. You won’t get to watch, but that’s not important. It’s no-show Wednesday.

What will always be more important to Striv founder Taylor Siebert and myself is family. It’s truly what makes us tick.

So, with great joy we tell you why there is no show tonight because Brock Taylor Siebert was born this morning at 7:50 in Henderson. A 7 lb., 11.5 oz, 20.5 inch tailback or point forward; maybe both. We’ll let Brock pick. But, he’ll be a guaranteed iPhone user. His big brother Beckett is ready to wrestle and throw him in the leaves and his mom, Jessica, is doing well.

It’s a great time, too, to step back and say thanks to everyone who makes Striv great. Simply, we are Nebraska and we want to share community stories.

We enjoy going to meet Cozad’s Conor Young and Sutton’s Noah Johnson. We loved hosting kids from all over the state at the StrivUnews14 conference earlier this month in Henderson. We love promoting Nebraska students and their activities through our websites and our show. That is who we are.

Less than a year ago, we were two guys meeting at Buffalo Wild Wings in Grand Island about making an already great product better. Our schools – 43 and counting – and even others still “thinking about it” haven’t disappointed. Since August, our sites have seen nearly 200,000 page views. Mostly to watch football on a Friday night. Some to read a story; others to watch volleyball or softball. Whoever it is, it’s appreciated and we hope that we gave you something you wouldn’t normally get from a state paper or TV station. Something that makes you feel proud to live in the community you live in.

And, while, yes we have tonight off we’ll be busy working for the weekend. You’ll see a state cross country story soon. And, we are excited to announce that on Saturday morning, we’ll be doing Prep Huddle LIVE at 10:00 AM with our playoff preview show that will feature interviews with coaches of our many playoff bound teams. Next week, we’ll start working on a series we hope to share throughout November called A Playoff Journey that will chronicle some of our teams as they make their way through the state football playoffs.

It’s a fun ride to be on. We’d like you with us. Thank you for letting us share your community’s story. And thank you for sharing ours. We’ll continue to work hard for our schools putting family and community first.
