Millard West returns to Lincoln for the 12th time in the last 14 seasons. Coach Marc Kruger is in his 3rd season with the Wildcats, and has seen some roster changes over the course of the season, due mainly to injuries. Logan Black is one of two seniors on the roster, leading the Cats in scoring. Under the radar entering the tournament, Millard West has won 12 of their last 15 games overall.
Kearney returns to the state tournament after an upset of Millard South in the District finals. They will have to play the role of “scrappy ‘cats”, averaging 11 steals per game and allowing just 38 points. Mariah Rost leads the offense at 12.4 per game. In addition to Millard South, Kearney owns a win over tournament qualifier Lincoln Northeast. The “Rowdies” will surely be out in full force all week.
